What will I receive with the free movie offer?

How do I find out what restaurants I can redeem my $25 gift certificate at?

Simply go to the website www.diningdough.com. At the bottom of the page, there is a link you click to find restaurants in your area. Enter your zip code and a list of participating restaurants will be shown. Each restaurant has different terms for the use of the $25 gift certificate, and these terms are available to read in the participating restaurants list.

 
Can I use my $25 gift certificate for other merchandise?

Yes, you can apply your restaurant certificate to any of the online merchants shown in the Dining Dough site.  To see the online merchants, enter your zip code in the restaurant finder and click "Find Restaurants."  This will bring up a list of participating restaurants in your area.  If you scroll to the bottom of the page, there is a section called "Online Partners" and this is where you will be able to see the tabs of online merchants. Please make sure to view the restrictions for each of the merchants before you redeem your certificate. (Dining Dough)

 
 
 
What can I receive each month if I like the free movie?

Every month, depending on which package you chose (Basic or Premium), you will receive either 1 or 2 Mom-Selected, Mom-Approved movies on DVD along with a Family Discussion Guide for the movie(s), an activity, an easy snack recipe from Auntie's Kitchen your whole family will enjoy, and a beautiful DVD collector's case to store your films and Discussion Guides.  These are all yours to enjoy and keep.  If you chose the Premium Plan you will also receive a $25 dining certificate each month, along with other special discounts and offers.   You can cancel at any time! Can I cancel whenever I want?

Certainly! We are confident that you will remain a member for years to come once your family experiences the quality and benefits of our service. Nonetheless, you are free to cancel your service at any time. Simply email us at customerservice@familyvaluescinema.com.  Please be sure to give us your name and membership number, and we would be grateful if you could let us know why you are canceling or how you think we might be able to improve our service.

 
Do I need to select my movies each month?

No, we do all the work for you! The National Board of Mothers screen thousands of family films and select only the best for Family Values Cinema members. Each month you will receive our special family film selection(s) to enjoy, keep and collect into a library of wonderful family movies with positive messages and good values (How We Select Our Movies). 

We do have a Club Store where you can purchase a wonderful selection of other family films (with only G and PG ratings).  These Club Store films may or may not have been approved yet by the National Board of Mothers.  Look for their seal of approval.  All the movie reviews in our Club Store contain extensive reviews provided by Plugged In Online for your family's discernment.

 
How do you select the movies?        National Board of Mothers Seal of Approval

In partnership with the National Board of Mothers, we literally review thousands of movies, and we choose the best, most entertaining films that we'd be proud to watch with our own children.  We look for movies that both entertain and inspire families.  No profanity, no sex, no violence! Only movies with messages promoting positive family values are pre-selected each month to send to our members.

Can I select movies to purchase?

Yes!  We are now offering our members a wonderful selection of movies in our Club Store.  (Take Me Shopping!)

Do you have a list of the movies that your moms are considering for FVC Club Members?

Yes. Have a look at About Our Movies to see other titles we may be sending to our members in future months.  These are only a sampling of the movies we are currently considering, but they will give you a good idea of the kinds of films you might receive.

 
 
 
What are the ratings of your movies and is the storyline kept in tact or is it lost in any way?

We look for G and PG ratings only.  The storyline is never touched, although we occasionally edit out profanity at the request of the National Board of Mothers with the producer's and/or studio's permission.

 
Are the movies you select current productions or are they movies from the early 90's and prior? 

We are reviewing films right now that are mostly produced from 1999-2007.  What we are finding is that most family films made in recent years contain a lot of gratuitous potty humor.

 
Are your films animated/cartoons?

Very rarely. We feel that children and families learn more and relate better to live-action characters and stories in films. However, sometimes we may find a particularly unique animated family film that we feel is especially suitable for our members. 

 
 
Can I suspend my membership (as opposed to canceling) if I am going on an extended vacation or if my budget is tight?

Yes. Please send us an email (customerservice@familyvaluescinema.com) with your name and member number and let us know when you would like to suspend your membership and when you would like us to resume your membership and begin re-sending you your monthly mailing.

Do your films support Christian family values?

Absolutely.  The founder of Family Values Cinema had a strong Christian upbringing.  The foundation for FVC and its family movie selection incorporates Christian values, the importance of family and the need for wholesome family entertainment.

 
Are the movies I receive feature-length?

Yes. They are generally at least 70 minutes or more in length.

 
Can I find these films in stores?

The films we pre-select for our monthly subscribers are rarely found in stores like Walmart or Target and even more rarely in rental stores or vending machines like Blockbuster and RedBox.  They are "jewels" we find that often cannot compete for limited shelf space with some of the better known, non-family friendly movie titles at stores.

 
What if I don't like a particular selection?

Family Values Cinema and the National Board of Mothers have reviewed each film. We have only chosen movies that have consistently received the highest marks. We feel this rigorous filter review process is the best way we can ensure that as many of our club members as possible will find our selections enjoyable or otherwise rewarding. (About Our Movies) Since everyone has his or her own unique taste, we cannot guarantee that each member of your family will "like" every film we select. But we do hope you will appreciate the positive family messages that each movie we send our members is sure to contain.

Can I make comments on your movies?

Yes. In order to provide you with truly special family movies, we need to know what you like! For this reason, we ask our members to visit our Suggestion Box every month to rate the movies you have seen. Your opinions will help immensely in shaping future selections.

 
What if I miss a month? Can I complete my collection later?

Sorry. Once the month is over, it's over. Each DVD is a limited edition from Family Values Cinema, and is therefore only available during the month we send them to our members. If you wish to have the complete collection, we encourage you to keep your membership current. However, we do occasionally offer our members the ability to acquire some of our most popular past titles. Keep an eye on future monthly shipments for a catalog of special offers.

 
How much does it cost, and how can I pay?

We offer you a choice of receiving one or two movie packages every month. Our Premium Plan is only $19.95 (plus $3.95 shipping & handling) and gives you two family movies, two Family Discussion Guides with activities, two recipe cards and a $25 restaurant gift certificate (redeemable at over 20,000 restaurants nationwide), along with over $100 in coupon savings each month that our members can access easily (Questions about monthly coupon savings can be directed to discounts@familyvaluescinema.com).

Our Basic Plan is only $9.95 (plus $3.95 shipping & handling) and includes one family  movie, one Family Discussion Guide with an activity, and one recipe card each month. We accept VISA, MasterCard, Discover, American Express and debit cards.

Can I pay by check?

At this time, we are only able to accept a personal check or money order when an annual membership is purchased.  If you would like to pay by check or money order, please contact our Customer Service at customerservice@familyvaluescinema.com.

 
Do you offer gift subscriptions?

Yes! We offer 3-month, 6-month and 12-month gift certificate memberships, which we mail to your loved ones or directly to you, whichever you prefer. We can even include a special message from you if you like. (Click here to learn more about our gift cards.)

 
When is my billing and shipping date?

For monthly members, your credit card will automatically be charged each month on the 17th. Your package is shipped via First Class mail within a few days of your monthly charge. Please allow a minimum of 14 business days after your credit card has been charged to receive your monthly shipment as mailing times may vary. For annual members, your monthly shipment will be processed on the 17th of the month that you joined Family Values Cinema. Can I use Family Values Cinema as a Fundraiser?

Absolutely! Our program is perfectly suited to help charitable and non-profit organizations raise money. For each new member who enrolls through your organization, Family Values Cinema contributes 10% per member, per month back to your group for as long as they remain a member of the Family Values Cinema Club. Can I upgrade my membership from the Basic package to the Premium package or to an annual subscription?

I didn't get my monthly package. What should I do?

The US Postal Service is sometimes slower than normal, especially around the holidays. If you are concerned that your package has not yet arrived, contact us at customerservice@familyvaluescinema.com. Be sure to include your name and telephone number in your email.

 
Do you ship outside the United States and Canada?

No, not at this time.

 
Can I show these movies at my organization, school, church or other public place?

No, we're sorry you cannot screen anything in a "public" place, meaning outside the home environment for family and friends. A public performance license must be obtained before a movie can be shown. This legal requirement applies regardless of whether an admission fee is charged, whether the institution or organization is commercial or non-profit, or whether a federal or state agency is involved. How do I submit a film to Family Values Cinema for consideration?

No, absolutely not!  We will never share, sell, or rent individual personal information with anyone without your advance written permission.
